ANTENNA BUILD PROJECT              The after Club meeting “antenna building project” proposed by N0ZIB, Adam, has been postponed to a later date…TBA.  Adam has JOB commitments scheduled for indefinite Saturdays.

N0HKK, JOHN CLUB PRESIDENT    Once again, thanked KB8QAV, Gerry P. who is affiliated with St Clements Health Care Center, in Liguori, MO for the use of their facility…an excellent QTH to hold meetings.

JCARC ARES                                    N0CYF, Art, ARES Coordinator underwent Cataract surgery recently and will be out of circulation for a while.

ASSISTANT COORDINATOR              KB0WWQ, Lori announced the following:

          –  JCARC members took part in the Missouri-Wide Tornado Drill held on March 8, 2022 at 10:00AM.  Lori served as Net Control Operator for this        event using the 147.075, FM repeater.  There were 15 check ins with    operator QTHs located in Jefferson, Franklin, & Washington Counties.

          –  The HARN radio at Mercy Jefferson Hospital has been fixed.

          –  One of the 2-Meter antennas at Mercy Jefferson Hospital is down.

          –  JCARC owns the power supply located at the JEFFCO EOC.

          –  For those who missed the current CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training session, the Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management (EOC) will be offering the training again this Fall.  There will probably be a pre-registration requirement…stay tuned for further info.

RE:  RECORD KEEPING                    N0HKK, John, Club President stated we need to try to keep closer track of what & where Club-owned equipment is loaned out or located.  N0ZIB, Adam, repeater trustee, is probably best suited to maintain this inventory.

WEATHER SPOTTING TRAINING      Anyone interested in learning more about how atmospheric conditions help create nasty WX conditions, should look into when the National Weather Service will be offering their next Virtual Storm Spotting Classes.  Go to:  weather.gov/lsx to check it out.

BOTTLENECK BRIDGE BIKE RIDE   Is scheduled for Sunday August 21st.  Lori serves as Net Control operator for this event and is assembling a team of JCARC radio operators to provide communications for this event.  The number of entrees for this event increases every year and Trailnet (at: trailnet.org)—the health-promoting group behind these bike rides— and riders appreciate the support the JCARC offers for this fun, one-day event.  See Lori to sign up.

JCARC AUCTION?                            N0HKK, John, Club President floated the idea of how the Club might go about setting up and holding a JCARC AUCTION that, unlike a Hamfest, would be open to both amateur radio hobbyists and the public at large.  Auctions are always popular but this one would not only help promote the Club but provide some entertainment & profit as well.   Lots of questions at this time… the Board will bring up at their next meeting.

EASTERN MISSOURI BEACON         KE0YXX, Ray is working on expanding his recently launched publication, the EMB. The Beacon contains a range of information relating to Amateur Radio, such as:  The Elmer Blog; How to get licensed, finding radio gear, finding repeaters, finding fellow hams on the air, finding radio clubs and other items of interest to any ham radio operator.  Access publication by going to: easternmobeacon.com

TWIN CITY DAYS                               KE0YXX, Ray is looking into reserving the same booth the Club occupied for last year’s Twin City Days event.  Booth cost is $40.00 for this one-day event held on Saturday, Sept 10, 2022.  Lots of foot traffic…excellent exposure for the Club.  Stay tuned for more information.

BAD WEATHER NET                         It’s nasty weather season and the 147.075 repeater is available to anyone to activate a Bad Weather Net.  Keep in mind, the National Weather Service will monitor the 075 during severe WX conditions to gather “real time” local conditions.

POTA AT MASTODON PARK?            KE0YXX, Ray is interested in activating a POTA Net at Mastodon Park, Imperial, MO.  Any interest in this?  Talk to Ray.

147.105 FM/DIGI OPERATION         N0HKK, John will keep pursuing the challenge of using the 147.105 repeater to operate in both FM and Digital modes. KC9JLI, John is offering his technical expertise to make this happen.

2022 FIELD DAY                               Reminder, Field Day is June 25-26.  We have a permit to use Sunridge Park for this event…8AM Sat to 3PM Sunday.  The Porta potty has been ordered.

HAITI MISSIONARY WORK               N0POD, Don expressed his shock and disappointment in having to deal with corruption in getting supplies to his Mission in Haiti.  For example, Don stated that, of a recent shipment of supplies in 55-gallon drums, only 35% actually made it to its destination due to theft and corrupt local officials…is the cost of doing business in Hait?
